Newborn Photos

We think we picked a beautiful name for our baby.  However more often than not, that's not what we call her.  I've compiled a list of some of the more popular nicknames that have emerged for Miss Clara over the past 2 weeks:


Bright Eyes (this is mostly so I can sing Turn Around Bright Eyes to her all day every day)
Clarabou (like Caribou...)
Clarapants
Clare Bear 

Floppy One (in reference to her undeveloped neck muscles)
Flopsy (ditto)
Grunty McGee (she likes to grunt while she eats....very feminine)

Her Ladyship (but only right after I've been watching Downton Abbey)
Little Headbanger (when she gets really hungry she repeatedly headbangs against me before latching)
Little One
Little Miss

Midget (This came about when I realized it would be a few weeks before she would be big enough for her newborn clothes)
Missy Moo
Munchkin
Oompa Loompa Baby  (baby jaundice combined with red face from fussing makes her orange)
Pterodactyl Baby (she just gets a little dinosaur-like around feedings)

Stinky McGee (Erik will add McGee to any adjective and use it as a nickname)

Zombie Baby (she sneaks her hand out of the top of her swaddle and furls and unfurls her fingers.  It's a little creepy looking to be honest)

I picked up the CD with her newborn photos today.  She is beautiful.  We love her so much already.  Act like you haven't already seen these pictures when you get a birth announcement from us.  Thanks.
